I saw "yuri the only one" at the video games live show and loved it completely. But the whole time i thought they were saying "you're the only one" and the closed captioning just got it wrong. Up comes the song title and - whoops! - no, definitely wasn't a typing error. So, could anyone please tell me why a guy is singing about yuri?

It is a play on "you're" however Yuri is also the girl on girl version of Yaoi, so it's an extra little pun in there. (If you don't know what Yaoi is it's guy-on-guy action. Can be innocent however is often not)

I know what yuri meant - which is exactly why it confused me for a guy/girl love song to have it as a lyric. But if it's just for the pun, ok, just seemed strange.

Which makes me giggle considering it's other meaning.

I actually had no idea what the difference between Yuri and Yaoi till very, very recently. Now I started to wonder about the lyrics haha. But I think it just sounds like "you're" like they do in a lot of their songs.
