XD never thought i'd see a topic like this, i'm not sure quite what to put down... guess i should start with the beginning! >.>
in terms of saving the princess... i'd say i haven't even completed the first level yet! >.< my courage levels have been too low to beat the first boss >.>
as for a romance similar to the one in an anime i'd have to say... one similar to the relation ship between tomoya and nagisa in the second season of clannad... i think i chose this because of the way it's not like the other stereotypical anime relationships, there is a slight amount of awkwardness between them, but the way they easily rely on each other and bear each others problems i find to be quite.... wonderful.... >.>

O-mega sounds like Clannad has a very practical and good relationship. Seems to be a good Idea.

XD indeed, i think what makes it so good is the complete lack of fanservice, it gets pretty sad during the end of ther second season but still has a happy ending XD god i bet i sound like a sucker

i was shocked to later learn that the clannad was an anime adaptation of a visual novel of the same name designed by a japanese company named "key" (visual novles, for those who don't know, are also known as sim date games) apparently, key games are often low in mature content (pronz) and often aim to get the player (or in my case the viewer) more emotionally invested in it, it finally made sense to my why the second season of the anime was titled "clannad after story" XD there are two other anime by key that i'm trying to download , kanon, and air, it's alot harder to find torrents for those then i would have thought >.>
but i digress.... it's a very romancy anime i would say, with enough comedy to make everyone laugh and enough seriousness to make those same people think XD

Euphimia is my kind of princess. XD well it's all about getting the girl and saving the world! so save the princess unless she is gonna try and kill you of her own will. i like tragic love stories, where on of them dies before the other, like in X/1999
