Today has probably been one of the more exciting days of my life. xD

And, on top of that, it's my birthday, as I am sure you guys know because I won't let you forget! >=D

Today, we had a knocking at our door at noon.

Apparently, there was a cat loose on the 22nd floor, and they couldn't catch it!
Why they came to our apartment, I don't know... but oh well!

They said they were trying to catch it and then they were going to call the ASPCA if they couldn't find it's owner by 4pm.

SO, instead of going to Taco Bell to get me a Crunchwrap, I went to go see if I could help.

I get there, and there is a Security guard trying to scoop this cat into a bin with a lid that is too small for the bin. lol
And the lady who had just been at our door was trying to get it to come to him.

Now, a few things y'all should know about this lady.

She has had many cats.
None of them have lasted very long.
Every cat she has ever had, she says is sick.
And she has them put down.

So
She is trying to get this cat to come to her.
Mind you, it is scared beyond belief and she has it backed into a corner.

Small description of cat:
Pure black with bright orange eyes. Probably about 2-3 years old.

Anyway, she is saying how this cat is definitely sick, it's back leg is injured, and it's eyes were that color because it is sick and needs medical attention right away.
She was also saying how she had seen this cat from outside her window wandering the streets.
How she could tell that from 20+ stories, I don't know.

Also, how it happened inside a locked building with security guards, then found it's way on the 22nd floor, is also very... um... unrealistic.


So anyway, I walked down the hall toward the cat. This lady is telling me not to get any closer because it is sick. And she has cats, this cat can smell her cats, and if it won't come to her, it won't come to me.

I looked at the security guard, because talking to this lady would just be a waste of time. I said "Look... I used to work for a Vet." I then got everyone to back away, because this cat was clearly scared to death. I knelt down and offered my hand to him.

Almost immediately, the cat came up to me and let me pet him.

So I scooped him up and put him in the bin and helped him carry it down to the ground floor. I then had the security guard hold him there long enough for me to run upstairs and grab a cat carrier. I then, easily, picked the cat up out of the bin and placed him in the cat carrier.

So then I came back upstairs, made a whole bunch of signs and posted them everywhere so we can find the owner!
Went back downstairs periodically to give it food and water. It hasn't given me any problems at all.
So then, I get a phone call from the Security guard downstairs.

He said he spoke to management about the cat. They said since I had done so much for it, they wanted the cat in my custody until the owner is found. If the owner doesn't claim the cat by Monday, then it belongs to me. Also, if I had not taken the cat, then they would have to call the ASPCA to take it.

So now it is wandering around my apartment. xD He is very nice and definitely a House Cat. I hope someone claims him soon, because I don't think I will be able to keep him, seeing as though we have 2 cats already and this isn't MY apartment, it's my boyfriends grandmothers apartment... So I doubt we will be able to keep him if he isn't claimed.

But now that I know he is safe, we might be able to go out to Taco Bell and get me that Crunchwrap. xD

Sounds like an eventful day! That lady sounds like the type of person who thinks they know everything about animals just because they have/have had a lot but don't actually know shit about animals. (Reminds me of someone actually...)

lol! She is!
Her apartment is full of porcelain dolls.
And by full, I mean there is 1 walkway in the entire house that is about half a foot wide.
The rest of the house is full of dolls.
It's creepy.
I'm convinced she is literally crazy.

You madame are a beautiful person for saving that cat.

XD and here i was thinkin that you couldn't possible be any more awesome, well i was WRONG XD totally cool nikkah and props for not trusting that old lady, from what you said she seems to be quite a hazard to animals... like bob barker on steroids >.> reminds me of the time i chased a runaway dog for three hours in the dead of winter and once i finally stoped following it, it started following me! like it was a game or something, long story short, i got the dog back to the owners XD i too hope someone claims the cat, ASCPA isn't a great home for any animle, they do all they can but with so many abandonds and runaways its damn near impossible to take care of them all >.>

And Wow, I'm not very physically fit. xD I know how to deal with cats but I don't know if I would be able to handle a runaway dog. =O But of course, I have yet to try. xD

The cat is still here, by the way. No one has claimed it yet. Hopefully someone will come today. =]

And I was so busy taking care of the cat yesterday, I decided to go to Taco Bell today instead of yesterday. =] I figure I have until 4pm until my birthday is officially over. xD
