Mine is actually a long story. My parents became English teachers in Japan when I was half a year old and I lived there till 4. I was interested in their culture and my friend in high school showed me manga and youi but I didn't become an true otaku till my freshmen year in collage when I joined the anime club for a theater friend of mine. I made friends with them and I loved how cool they were so they showed me how to be a otaku.
It all started with old school Toonami on Cartoon Network, ya know Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Reboot(not sure about that one), Gundam, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin. But I didn't realize they were Japanese till middle school when a friend introduced me to Inuyasha, Chobits, and Marmalade Boy XD

Lets see I first got really interested in Japan after my DAD showed me Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop. It was something me and him watched together and had fun doing it. We wanted to go to Anime Vegas this year but money is way to tight to do so.
