I had bought these novels of the series .hack//, by Tatsuya Hamazaki, afew years ago. I had noticed that the story of Firefly is based on the Legend of the Twilight, is about a Japanese Irish Bostonian thirteen year old who goes the game to practice japanese, because it is expensive to get to Japan. This is a background story of how Hotaru met Sanjuro. It mentions the Celtics.

Here is how it goes. he talks about Boston , his dad's favorite team, the Boston Celtics. His dad a red-haired, hard-drinking Irishman. But as much as he loved sports and drink, he also enjoyed the arts. His mother was born in Kyoto. He skips recording the seventh game of the finals for his dad, who is at an opera with his wife.He instead goes on The world (the game in the anime/manga) to try to practice his japanese. This story takes place in 2014, 28 years after the 16th win for the Celts.
