Almost every RPG Gamer has one, mine is FF7 Mainly because it has Red XIII and a great Story (IMO). Then FF9/FF8 then FF10 (FF12 was the worst IMO)

While I love FFX, FFVII is a classic, timeless and wonderful. And have I mentioned Sephiroth?

Final Fantasy VI or "Final Fantasy III" known to some. I liked FFX very much, but in playing FFVI to me, there's a very distinct line between good and evil (Thank you Kefka) however in FFX I found it a little troublesome sometimes to play because although there is an evil, it's not Purely maniacal, and there's a blur line as to whether or not defeating Sin is the right thing to do. Though kicking the crap out of Seymour was by far the most enjoyable part of the game.

The older Final Fantasy games had a much better OST, especially FF5 with the Opera scene, but I enjoyed FF8 the most overall.

Not to be a troll, but didn't 6 have the Opera scene?

FFX, if only because it was my first. I've played a little bit of FF7 and my friend has promised to let me borrow her copy, which is exciting to no end, because those are my favorite FF characters.

Final Fantasy VIII for me. I always thought it had the most lovable characters.
But, FFX has never failed to give me goosebumps.

Final Fantasy Tactics for me. It combined the tactical role playing element with a killer cast of allies and villains. A coherent plot and a wicked sound track.

I would follow that closely by FFVIII and then FFXII. The latter because it is a very well told prequel to Tactics, even if they hardly connect story wise. Also the easter eggs in XII are hilarious if you find them. "This is the way."

It probably did, I'm too lazy to check though.
