As Wapa, Japanophile, Otaku, etc. Have a negative aura to it for you? Or is it something you simply shrug off? Proud of it? Laugh at it or what?

Let me know. I've always been mixed and each one has it's own effect for me. It is rather weird I suppose.

I really depends on the context it's used in.

Well I suppose socially Wapa, Japanophile, otaku, etc. is generally used as an insult. I can't really consider myself any of them, but I've been called them. So in a sense I think it gives me a bit of a negative feeling because of how it is generally used.

Let see, I have been called it all. I have met all kinds of people. The Area in which I live is very diverse on people. Also, since I have done military training over on the east side. I have meet all kinds of people.

I've been called worse then what tends to deal with the Japanese culture. However, I do find when people call me such as a Japanophile, Wapa, Otaku and etc. It is taken as something negative. However I do not get phased by it anymore. At first it was a big deal, when I first started hearing about such things and researching it (Ahaha what a Dork I am, I even researched the words).

On the other hand, I embrace it now. Yes it is meant to be negative but I still take it as being different (In a good way that is) I fall in love with things I was not brought up around.

Call me whatever it is you want too!! I'll gladly smile and just give you a hug.

I am a big Dork, uber in Romance till the point that it is sad, and childish at heart (not mind)

I'd just ignore it as I do with critics, and I'll deffently would like people calling me Japanophile or Otaku those terms have the least neg to them.
