Alrightly peeps! This thread is to talk about everyone's experiences at any kind of convention. It can be funny or awesome stories, crazy cosplays that blew your mind, or anything related to such things. I'll start!
So, the craziest costume I have ever witnessed was a girl did a Big Sister cosplay from Bioshock 2, and it was her first cosplay she has ever done! He made the helmet with a glowing red light, the wire frame on her back to catch Little Sisters, and all of those buckles. It was crazy! And she was in the Beginners category of the Cosplay Contest. (The judges wanted to bump her to Masters) She won 1st place for Beginners and Intermediate. It was ridiculous.
This seriously happpened at sakuracon 2010, and was the talk of everyone waiting by the main entrance that night (Which included me and my friends.)
A woman walked into the convention center, she was wearing nice clothes, had a big dog on a leash, and had a bible in her hand. (Based on how she was acting, my guess is that she was homeless and a church gave her new clothes, a bible, and some money to get back on her feet.)
She sits down on in the middle of the room, and begins singing the last few lines of "America the beautiful." She refused to move when security came, and continued singing for a while. Eventually police came and had to drag her out by the hair while she began to yell "Jesus! Save me!" between verses. (Funny thing is, the guy standing behind me was dresses up like Jesus.) As this happened, her dog proceeded to try to attack the police officers. Also, if you looked closely, she would occasionally stop singing to rub at her nose, so many people theorize that she was on cocaine.

*laughs* That's hilarious! Kinda scary, but funny!
I have another one. My friends and I all dressed up from Soul Eater. I was Maka, and as I was outside the convention center putting my giant scythe away in my car, I hear these voices screaming "MAKA!!!!" and all of a sudden these 13-15 girls ran like maniacs towards me and started freaking out. Apparently, they found all of my other friends and attacked/glomped them. Needless to say, they were hanging around us during the dance and were acting like screaming fangirls. That was one of the most entertaining moments at Banzai.

lets see I've seen an 80 year old man dressed as a lolita. Which was creepy. One year I dressed as Lavi from D.Gray Man and was going to be in the cosplay contest so we were backstage waiting for it to start and I was talking to a Tsunade the entire time and all of the sudden she goes "So do you have a girlfriend?" and I'm like "Ummm I'm a girl." and she gets all embarrassed and everything and i just laugh a lot. Next day I came to realization that she was flirting with me and I was completely oblivious to it.

I've seen some pretty crazy stuff at conventions. I also have been involved in some pretty crazy stuff. Kinda like that one time i was mobbed by crazy fangirls...you're never quiet the same after that. The Fangirls stole my laptop. One of the people running the meeting had to get my laptop back for me. I have it on tape too. It's on youtube!

Gotta say, I sorta envy you there Alfred, I know too the painful loss of a laptop but I can't lie... I don't think I'd hate getting mobbed by fangirls.... As long as they're cute... Still though man, that's pretty crazy

It's so funny cross-playing. Cause no one know what gender you are. That can cause some hilarious stories. And welcome Alfred! Thanks for bringing my forum post back to life!
Sad but true story: My friend (who is a chick) always cross-plays because she is more tomboyish. Well, at an anime convention ball, she got all dressed up in her tux/suit stuff, and myself in a ball gown. Now, I'm not that half bad looking, but she got more dances than I did! (As in I got none and she was gone the whole time) Although, she kept getting asked by girls to dance since she looked like a boy. That was amusing.
